Features

What Musca Auras does

Musca Auras takes WeakAuras 5.22.0 and adapts it to the WoW Forever client. Build your own displays, or import the ones the community already shares.

Triggers

Buffs, debuffs, cooldowns, resources and combat events, combined with conditions.

Cooldowns

The game's cooldown sweep on your own icons, pixel-perfect.

Bars and text

Durations, stacks and values, formatted however you like.

Dynamic groups

Icons rearrange themselves when an aura appears or disappears.

Wago import

WeakAuras strings paste in as they are.

Commands

/waopens the options (or /weakauras)

FAQ

Is there a WeakAuras for WoW Forever?

Yes: Musca Auras is a fork of WeakAuras built for the WoW Forever client (1.60.1). Same folder, same /wa and /weakauras commands, same saved settings.

Can I import WeakAuras strings from Wago?

Yes. Wago imports and existing auras load without conversion. WoW Forever runs on the modern 12.x engine, though: auras that read the combat log never fire, and custom code calling removed functions must move to the C_ API. Expect to adapt most imported auras.

Can I import my ForeverAuras auras?

Yes. Export your auras from ForeverAuras, then paste the strings in the import window: they are converted on import. Groups work too. Musca Auras lists in the chat what it could not convert. Do not run both addons at the same time.

Can I install Musca Auras next to WeakAuras?

No. Musca Auras uses the WeakAuras folder and saved settings: do not install it next to another WeakAuras build.

How do I install Musca Auras?

From CurseForge or Wago, or copy the five folders WeakAuras, WeakAurasArchive, WeakAurasModelPaths, WeakAurasOptions and WeakAurasTemplates into World of Warcraft/_classic_beta_/Interface/AddOns/.

Is Musca Auras an official WeakAuras release?

No. It is a fork of WeakAuras2 © The WeakAuras Team, under the GPL-2.0 license. Versions up to 1.12 held code from ForeverAuras (Neroxrw), and versions before 1.10 code from M33kAuras (m33shoq). Musca is not affiliated with the WeakAuras Team or Blizzard Entertainment.

  1. 1.14.0

    Oct 22, 2026

    Changed

    • /wa demo: sample timers now start and end at random, like cooldowns and buffs in a fight. Each one runs for 4 to 20 seconds with 1 to 5 stacks, hides for 1 to 6 seconds, then starts again. Aura (Modern) samples show the same timer and stacks. The demo ends when the options close.
    • Author options: Start Collapsed on an option group now goes through Undo and Redo.
    • Custom code: WeakAuras.IsTargetInSwingRange, WeakAuras.GetSpellCooldownDurationObject, WeakAuras.IsSpellCooldownSecret and WeakAuras.IsSecretStateActive are removed from the WeakAuras table. Triggers and conditions that use them still work.

    Fixed

    • Options: sample timers stopped looping from the second opening of the options in a session (bug also in WeakAuras 5.22).

    After the update

    • Nothing to convert, and the class HUDs do not need an update. Going back to 1.13 is possible.
    • Custom code that calls one of the four removed WeakAuras functions above stops working: remove the call.
  2. 1.13.0

    Oct 21, 2026

    New

    • Health trigger: Show Absorb and Show Heal Absorb options. The %absorb and %healabsorb texts show the shield and the heal absorb of the unit. The game hides these amounts, so they give no condition and no threshold.

    Changed

    • Options window: the toolbar now fits in the window, in French too. Unused Auras, Replace and Hide Blizzard's CDM show an icon or a checkbox alone, with their name in the tooltip. Shorter French labels.
    • Clearer texts, without technical words: "Native Filter" is now Game Categories, and "Secret Restrictions Active" is now Game Hides Combat Data. The in-game tutorial has a new section, "Coming from ForeverAuras".
    • The code derived from ForeverAuras is rewritten without ForeverAuras code. ForeverAuras auras still import as before.
    • Templates: removed spells that do not exist on WoW Forever (Season of Discovery versions, Troll Berserking variants).

    Fixed

    • Combo points: the Power trigger on Combo Points now follows the target. The combo point pips of the Rogue and Druid HUDs, and the %power text of a Combo Points aura, no longer keep the points of the previous target.

    After the update

    • Nothing to convert, and the class HUDs do not need an update. Going back to 1.12 is possible.
  3. 1.12.0

    Oct 19, 2026

    New

    • Undo and Redo: two buttons in the options window, for every tab. Edits less than one second apart make one step, and the last 50 steps are kept. Renaming, moving, deleting, converting and importing clear the history.
    • Find and replace: the Replace button of the toolbar replaces a spell, texture, font or sound in the selected auras and their children, or in every aura when none is selected. It lists the changes in the chat and asks for a confirmation. Undo puts the old values back.
    • Tags: a Tags field in the Information tab. Searching #raid in the aura list shows the auras tagged "raid" and the members of a group tagged "raid". Tags are not exported, and an update keeps them.
    • Aura Sets: the Aura Set button of the toolbar picks a tag for the current character, which then loads only the auras that carry it, themselves or through their group. Each character of the account keeps its own set, from the same auras. An empty tag loads every aura.
    • Trigger Aura Shown (Events category): active while another aura is shown, or while it is hidden with Inverse. Renaming the watched aura keeps the link.
    • Edit Mode placement: while the Blizzard Edit Mode is open, each top-level aura or group anchored to the screen gets a labelled box, shown even when the aura is not. Drag the box to move the aura; with Snap on and the grid shown, it sticks to the grid. Revert All Changes puts the moved auras back, and /wa can undo a move.
    • Group conditions: the Conditions tab of a group shows Group Conditions above Children Conditions. They use the global checks, such as combat, and change the alpha, offsets, sound, chat message or custom code of the group itself.
    • /wa demo opens the options and shows every loaded aura with sample states, to set up a HUD without a fight. /wa demo <aura name> shows only that aura.
    • Frozen value padlock: while the game hides auras in combat, an aura whose Aura trigger can no longer update shows a small padlock at its top right corner, since what it shows may be out of date. Hide Frozen Value Padlock in Size & Position turns it off for that aura.
    • Pixel Perfect option in Size & Position: the textures of the aura snap to the screen pixels, for sharp edges. Off by default.

    Changed

    • Stance/Form/Aura: the trigger stores the form spell instead of its position on the stance bar, so a stance learned later no longer shifts the selection. Dire Bear Form counts as Bear Form, and every rank of Stealth, of the paladin auras and of the hunter aspects counts as one. The %form text gives the spell ID; custom code that reads the form is not converted. The Form by position option keeps the old behaviour.
    • Spell Cast Succeeded: a warning shows when the Caster Unit is neither the player nor the pet, since the game hides the casts of other units.
    • ForeverAuras imports: anchors and glow frames set to another ForeverAuras aura, form filters and form conditions are converted, and custom code that calls ForeverAuras finds the WeakAuras API. An anchor imported before 1.12 stays broken: import the aura again. A condition that its trigger does not offer shows Incompatible condition in the options.
    • The movement watcher stops once no aura uses it.
    • French translation of the 225 texts that had none.

    After the update

    • Your stance and form auras are converted at login, for the class of the character you log in with. Log in once with each class that has such auras. Only auras loaded for a single class, by the Class option or a Forever specialization, are converted. The others, and an aura whose stance cannot be found on the stance bar, keep Form by position.
    • Going back to an older version breaks the converted stance and form auras.
Older versions (22)
  1. 1.11.0

    Oct 18, 2026

    New

    • Trigger Expression: a new Required for Activation mode combines the triggers with an expression such as 1 and (2 or not 3), without Lua code. The expression is checked when you enter it, and trigger numbers follow when a trigger is moved or deleted.
    • Copy and paste of a single trigger or condition: Copy Trigger and Copy Condition at the end of each one, then Paste Trigger or Paste Condition next to the add button of any aura. A paste that an Aura (Modern) cannot use is undone, with a message in the chat.
    • Partial import: importing a new group, or a copy of a group, lists its child auras with a checkbox each. An unchecked aura is left out of the import.
    • Unused Auras: a new toolbar button lists the auras no character of your account loaded for 30 days, and the empty groups, then asks to delete them. Every aura you delete is now kept for 30 days: /wa deleted lists them and /wa undelete <number> opens the import window on one. Load dates count from your first login with 1.11.0.
    • CPU cost: after a profiling (/wa pstart, then /wa pstop), each aura that ran shows a badge colored by its cost. A click opens the profiling window. A custom trigger or custom text that runs its code on each frame without a throttle gets a warning.
    • Greyed out options now explain why in their tooltip. A Switch to classic mode button changes the Aura (Modern) triggers of an aura to Aura.
    • Aura update has a new category, Fonts & Text Style, unchecked by default, so updating a display keeps your fonts.
    • The aura list search also matches descriptions, spell names and IDs, item names and the texts of the aura.
    • Class packs: a Not in melee range text for the melee specs (Shaman, Rogue, Paladin, Warrior, Druid cat and bear), read in combat. Reminders that do not track an aura pulse (icon) or flash (text).

    Fixes

    • Aura (Modern) background follows every restyle (crop, rotation, mirror and offset), and a partial ring no longer shows a full disc behind it.
    • /wa pstart combat and /wa pstart encounter now profile the next combat or encounter even when the profiling window was never opened. Opening the window lists the results of the last profiling.

    Changed

    • Class packs: the Shaman healing spells load in the Restoration specialization only, Lava Lash and Molten Blast in Enhancement only. A Druid cooldown limited to a form (Dash, Enrage, Frenzied Regeneration) shows its buff, then its cooldown, in one icon, and its separate "(active)" icon is gone. The mana bar turns red under 30 % without a red copy laid over it. The Paladin "Missing: Seal" reminder loads in combat only, the Priest Shadowform reminder in and out of combat.
    • Secret value text: a hidden value or total in a text now follows the number format chosen in the options.
    • The welcome popup and the tutorial no longer say that talent load options are empty: they list the talents of your own specialization.
    • French translation of the texts that had none.

    After the update

    • Click Update <Class> HUD in the message shown at login, or Class Pack at the top of the New Aura panel, to update your HUD. Your positions and options are kept.
  2. 1.10.0

    Oct 18, 2026

    New

    • Conditions on Health, Health (%), Health Deficit, Power, Power (%) and Power Deficit (<, <=, >, >=) change Alpha, Color and Desaturate even when the game hides the value, in combat included. On an enemy, only the % conditions work.
    • These conditions also drive the sub elements: sub text, border, glow, texture, progress textures, stop motion and tick can be shown, hidden or recolored, and texture, progress textures, stop motion and tick greyed out. Bar color, bar icon, background and spark follow too.
    • Text auras get an Alpha property for conditions. A condition that changes the text works on a hidden value, and several such conditions stack.
    • New condition property Looping Animation: while the condition is true, the aura plays the main animation you choose, and its own animation comes back afterwards.
    • Your auras are backed up once a day, three copies kept. /wa backups lists them and /wa restore <number> puts one back after a confirmation.
    • Custom code can call UnitAura, UnitBuff, UnitDebuff, GetSpellInfo, GetSpellTexture, IsUsableSpell, GetSpellCooldown and GetSpellCharges, which WoW Forever lacks. UnitAura, UnitBuff and UnitDebuff stop in combat on a hidden aura. The import report says when a call is replaced.
    • Cooldown Manager trigger: a buff chosen by name tracks every spell ID of that name, with one clone per Cooldown Manager entry. A spell counts as known when another rank of it is known.

    Fixes

    • The Shaman class pack totem icons keep their sub elements when the pack is loaded, and their timer swipe turns the right way.
    • Spell in Range: a spell saved by ID shows its name and icon, and a trigger without a spell no longer shows a wrong icon.
    • Errors raised while custom condition code loads now show under the code field.
    • A Lua error no longer fires when the game does not describe a talent subtree (talent load option).

    Changed

    • The load option Enabled BossMod ID(BW Only) is now BigWigs Module Loaded for Encounter ID. Your setting is kept.

    After the update

    • Click Update <Class> HUD in the message shown at login, or Class Pack at the top of the New Aura panel, to update your HUD. Your positions and options are kept.
  3. 1.9.1

    Oct 14, 2026

    New

    • Class pack aura icons show no timer numbers: a grey swipe fills them, and they pulse red in their last 3 seconds.
    • Class packs add a cast bar for every class, the global cooldown swipe on cooldown icons and more spells for each class. Each spell shows only once it is learned.
    • The Specialization load option matches the talent tree with the most points spent.
    • Import, deletion and selection of auras with glows no longer freeze the game.

    Fixes

    • Buff and debuff icons of the Aura (Modern) trigger show their cooldown swipe. With Hide Timer Text off, the game's countdown numbers can now show on them: turn it on if the icon already has a timer text.
    • Buff reminders of the class packs show only once the spell is learned: a level 1 rogue no longer sees the poison reminders.
    • The Druid form templates match the right form. A form learned after the template window first opened needs a /reload.
    • Nature's Swiftness no longer shows the global cooldown countdown when Hide GCD Text is on.

    Removed

    • The Energy Tick trigger: energy regenerates continuously on WoW Forever, there is no 2 second tick. An aura that used it turns into a Health trigger and shows your health after a /reload: delete it. The druid class pack update removes its energy tick bar (keep Remove Obsolete Auras checked).

    After the update

    • Click Class Pack at the top of the New Aura panel to update your HUD, or Update <Class> HUD in the message shown at login. Your positions and options are kept.
    • Coming from 1.8.0 or older: delete the <Class> (Musca) group first, then click Class Pack.
  4. 1.9.0

    Oct 13, 2026

    New

    • Aura (Modern) spell lists accept a spell name: it becomes the IDs of all its ranks.
    • The first login popup has an Install <class> HUD button that imports the class pack.
    • Before an import, a compatibility report lists the auras that use the combat log, values hidden in combat or functions missing from WoW Forever, with the known fix.
    • A custom code that fails to compile or to run shows "Error in custom code" on the aura.
    • A new Icon, Progress Bar, Progress Texture or Text aura starts with an Aura (Modern) trigger.
    • The options window shows the Musca Auras logo, and its Discord button gives the invite link.

    Fixes

    • Range, group role, weapon enchant and cooldown swipe checks skip the values the game hides in combat.
    • Custom code can no longer quit the game, manage the guild or read the debug library.
    • A class pack import asked in combat waits for the end of combat.

    After the update

    • Restart the game: the new logo is not loaded by a /reload.
  5. 1.8.1

    Oct 12, 2026

    New

    • Class packs use a compact HUD: reminders and procs above, a thin resource bar, a main row and a utility row, then the bars.
    • A new class pack import updates the auras already in place and keeps their position, size and options.
    • Damage over time debuffs glow when they can be refreshed. Warrior stance spells show only in their stance.
    • WeakAuras.ImportClassPack() lets another addon open the class pack import.

    Fixes

    • An equipped trinket shows its cooldown without a /reload, even when its slot was empty when the aura loaded.
    • Texts with a trigger number (%1.percentpower, %2.health...) show the player's power and health percent, also mixed with names or readable values.
    • Class pack icons with a timer text no longer show two timers when the countdownForCooldowns CVar is on.

Before you import the new class pack

    • Delete the "<Class> (Musca)" group first: the aura uids change once.
  6. 1.8.0

    Oct 11, 2026

    New

    • Energy Tick trigger: a bar to the next 2 second energy tick.
    • Class Pack button at the top of the New Aura panel: imports the ready-made auras of your class.

    Fixes

    • No more frame rate drop after opening /wa and clicking an aura. Closing the options stops the auras that are not loaded and the glows and pulses of the preview.
    • Glows and Pulsing border conditions stop on empty native aura buttons, and when the Missing display is disabled.
    • A glow condition on elapsed time ("elapsed < N") works.
    • An aura anchored to another aura with Set Parent to Anchor no longer shows at its group's origin while the target aura is not created yet.
    • A Cooldown Manager clone taken in combat follows the aura it is anchored to.
    • No more LibSharedMedia error at login about the Cartoon Hop sound. The sound is removed, its file never shipped.
  7. 1.7.1

    Oct 10, 2026

    Fixes

    • Cooldown Manager aura triggers in combat: the bar no longer stays full or frozen, and the icon swipe and %p text keep the aura timing, also on a recast and on an aura cast for the first time in combat.
    • The %p Cooldown Manager text follows the selected time format and comes back after combat.
    • No more ADDON_ACTION_BLOCKED when a Cooldown Manager aura is placed or ends in combat.
    • An exact spell ID Cooldown Manager trigger stays shown in combat and follows a rank change.
    • No more Lua error at login from the native Cooldown Manager bar.
    • Two or more texts on an aura keep their order.

    Changes

    • The Cooldown Manager and dispel type files were rewritten. Nothing changes for your auras.
  8. 1.7.0

    Oct 9, 2026

    Fixes

    • Spell cooldowns in combat: a global cooldown alone no longer counts as a cooldown. A Not on Cooldown trigger with Show Global Cooldown unchecked stays shown during the GCD, and with Show Global Cooldown checked, On Cooldown no longer shows on every GCD.
    • An aura rebuilt while it is loaded, for example a group child after a growth change, no longer stays hidden until /reload. Not tested in game yet.
  9. 1.6.2

    Oct 9, 2026

    Fixes

    • Swing Timer with Target In Range or Out of Range: the aura shows with no swing in progress, so Out of Range works when you stand away from the target.
    • The native %p duration text follows the Old Blizzard (3m, 10s) and Modern Blizzard (3m 7s) time formats instead of always showing 3:07.
    • Cooldown Manager spell triggers no longer show the wand Shoot timer while you shoot.
    • Aura links: no more silent failure when addon whispers are blocked, a message tells you why.
    • Templates: class spells use the WoW Forever spell IDs (Druid: Tiger's Fury removed, Feral Charge fixed).
    • Smoother frame rate in combat while the game restricts addons.
    • With a Masque skin, an Icon keeps its size once it shows in game. Not tested in game yet.

    Changes

    • The options window title reads Musca Auras.
    • Shorter in-game guide.
  10. 1.6.1

    Oct 7, 2026

    Fixes

    • A Text display that shows only %power, %health or another value hidden by the game is no longer invisible.
    • The Cast trigger no longer reports "Forbidden function or table: pcall".
    • %unit without a trigger number is colored by class by default. For an aura saved before this fix, set Color to Class in the text options.
  11. 1.6.0

    Oct 6, 2026

    New

    • Modern Aura Group: Grid mode, with Grid direction, Row Width / Column Height, Row Space and Column Space. Off by default: existing groups keep their layout.
    • Aura (Modern) on nameplates is no longer limited to 40 nameplates.

    Changes

    • Spell cooldowns: a global cooldown alone no longer sets off Cooldown Ready or desaturates a spell.
    • Fewer updates for Modern Aura Groups, conditions and the Cooldown Manager trigger.
    • Restart the game after the update: a new file is not loaded by a /reload.

    Fixes

    • Modern Aura Group changes skipped in combat are applied at the end of combat, also in battlegrounds and arenas.
    • %N.p and %N.s texts are no longer empty in the first combat after a /reload.
    • A manual icon with an empty path shows the aura icon.
    • Spell charges no longer show outdated values after combat.

    Known limitations

    • Aura (Modern) needs the spell ID of the aura itself, which can differ from the spell you cast on WoW Forever.
    • In a Modern Aura Group, only Aura (Modern) displays are placed by the group. Put other triggers (totems, weapon enchants, cooldowns) in a Dynamic Group.
    • Conditions on a value hidden by the game in combat, such as target health, keep their last state until the end of combat.
    • With the classic Aura trigger, buffs and debuffs are hidden in combat. Use Aura (Modern) for combat.
    • Combat log triggers never fire: the game forbids the combat log to addons.
  12. 1.5.0

    Oct 5, 2026

    Changes

    • Renamed to Musca Auras. Nothing changes in your auras or settings.
    • Modern Aura Group: Progress Bar displays are accepted, not only Icons.
    • Aura (Modern) with a Remaining Time threshold on an Icon: textures and other display elements added in the Display tab now show with the icon instead of staying hidden.
    • Aura (Modern): glows keep moving after the aura is clicked in the options.
    • Aura (Modern): new Include Pets option (Players and Pets, Pets only) for group, party and raid.
    • Power trigger: new "Show at or above the value instead" for "Show only below (%)". With the energy hidden by the game in combat, use it instead of a Power comparison, for example energy at or above 80 with a Swing Timer.
    • Conditions on a value hidden by the game no longer cause a Lua error.
  13. 1.4.2

    Oct 4, 2026

    Changes

    • Internal code reorganized: the WoW Forever code moved out of the WeakAuras files into files of its own. Nothing changes in your auras, the behavior is the same. Tested in game on WoW Forever.
    • Restart the game after the update: the new files are not loaded by a /reload.

    Known limitations

    • Not tested in game yet: Important on the casts of other units, Ignore out of checking range, spell charges in combat.
    • Aura (Modern) needs the spell ID of the aura itself, which can differ from the spell you cast on WoW Forever.
    • /wa is also used by ForeverAuras: disable ForeverAuras, or type /weakauras.
    • With the classic Aura trigger, buffs and debuffs are hidden in combat. Use Aura (Modern) for combat.
    • Combat log triggers never fire: the game forbids the combat log to addons.
  14. 1.4.1

    Oct 4, 2026

    Highlights

    • Low energy, low mana and low health alerts work in combat: the Health and Power triggers have a new Show only below (%) option.

    New

    • Health and Power triggers: Show only below (%). The game itself hides the aura while the percent is at or above the value, in combat too. Example: Power, Energy, 70 shows a rogue icon under 70 energy (with 100 max energy). The aura stays active: sounds, glows and other actions still run. Not available for Stagger.
    • Spell Cast Succeeded trigger: Hide when target changes. The timer started by your cast hides when you change or clear your target. Targeting the first mob again does not bring the timer back.
    • Cooldown Progress (Spell) trigger: Desaturate while on cooldown. The game desaturates the icon while the spell is on cooldown, global cooldown excluded, in combat too.
    • Cooldown Progress (Spell) trigger: Hide GCD Text. With Show Global Cooldown, the countdown numbers hide while only the global cooldown runs; the swipe still shows it.
    • Cast trigger: Important filter and condition, for casts the game marks as important. While the spell is secret the value is unknown and the filter hides the cast.
    • Character Stats trigger: Bonus Healing, Ranged Attack Power, Spell Haste (%), Ranged Haste (%) and Expertise (%).
    • Unit Characteristics trigger: Ignore out of checking range, for group members the game has not loaded (about 100 yards).
    • Text sub elements: %1.p and %1.s show the remaining time and stacks of an Aura (Modern) trigger on one unit in combat, also when that trigger is not the progress source of the aura.
    • Conditions work in combat on secret values: Interruptible, Important, Spell Usable, Insufficient Resources, Spell in Range, and remaining time lower or greater than a value. The game itself applies the alpha, color and desaturation they set, in the usual priority order. Nothing to change in your auras.

    Fixes

    • Cast trigger on a mob (target, focus, nameplates): the cast shows again; the Important check stopped the trigger.
    • Cast trigger on a mob in combat: %n shows the secret spell name instead of nothing.
    • Secret values in combat no longer stop a whole trigger: a filter on a secret value fails alone.
    • No Lua error from a glow, a zoom animation, Bag Space or Equipment Durability while the game keeps a value secret.

    Changes

    • Cooldown Progress (Spell) trigger: a %s text shows the charges of a spell in combat, read from the game.
    • Guide (/wa tutorial): the low mana alert moves out of "Does not work".
    • Secret restrictions are checked again on combat, encounter, Mythic+ and PvP match changes, not only on entering and leaving combat.

    Known limitations

    • Show only below (%): the value is a percent of the maximum, not an amount. The option replaces the alpha of the aura: alpha conditions are not kept, and an alpha animation shows the aura while it runs. With several triggers using the option, only one is used. While the /wa window is open, the aura stays visible.
    • Tested in game: Desaturate while on cooldown, Hide GCD Text, %1.p and %1.s on Aura (Modern), the new Character Stats (hidden in combat, where the game keeps stats secret), Hide when target changes, Important on the casts of the player, conditions on secret values (Interruptible color of a mob's cast, Spell in Range, Insufficient Resources, remaining time lower than a value), the secret spell name of a mob's cast with %n.
    • Conditions on secret values: only alpha, color (icon, text, texture, bar) and desaturation follow them in combat; sounds, glows and other changes of such a condition do not run while the value is secret. Linked conditions are not covered. A remaining time condition placed after another secret condition on the same property is ignored in combat.
    • Not tested in game yet: Important on the casts of other units, Ignore out of checking range, the fixes above, spell charges in combat.
    • The Native Filter of the Aura trigger shows nothing at the moment.
    • Combat log triggers never fire: the game forbids the combat log to addons.
    • The Blizzard Cooldown Manager is not enabled for every class on the WoW Forever beta.
    • Nameplate anchoring only works with the default Blizzard nameplates.
  15. 1.4.0

    Oct 3, 2026

    Highlights

    • The addon loads again: the 1.3.2 download from CurseForge stopped at start-up and /wa did nothing.
    • New trigger type: Aura (Modern). Buffs and debuffs are drawn by the game's own aura widgets, so duration and stacks keep moving in combat.
    • New trigger type: Blizzard Cooldown Manager. Cooldowns, buffs, debuffs and items shown by the game's Cooldown Manager, drawn natively, so they keep working in combat.

    New

    • Aura (Modern) trigger: Show On, Remaining Time, Total Duration and Stack Count rules, native conditions (Aura Present, In Pandemic Window, Dispel Type, Aura Highlight), glow on the unit frame. ForeverAuras auras that use it are imported as they are.
    • Modern Aura Group: from the New button or the multi-selection menu, with growth, spacing, sort, limit and grouping by unit frame or nameplate.
    • Dispel Type Border sub element.
    • Blizzard Cooldown Manager trigger: Cooldown, Buff/Debuff and Item, with remaining time, total, stacks and "require target" filters. ForeverAuras auras that use it are imported as they are.
    • "Hide Blizzard's CDM" in the options and /wa cdm: hide the Blizzard Cooldown Manager while its triggers keep working.
    • CDM Dispel Type Icon sub element.
    • Load conditions: Specialization (deduced from the talents you learned), Secret Restrictions Active, BigWigs Module Loaded for Encounter ID.
    • Spell in Range trigger.
    • Color picker palette: class colors, favorites, recent colors and a hex field.
    • Warnings in the trigger options for values the game hides in combat, and combat status of the Cast trigger.

    Changes

    • Spell cooldowns in combat: ready and on cooldown states follow the spell, ignore the global cooldown and the shared Shoot cooldown, and Cooldown Ready fires once.
    • Totems keep their name and icon in combat once each totem was placed out of combat.
    • Progress Texture, Progress Bar and Text regions: more cases drawn natively in combat (inverse direction, smoothing, additional bars, ring angles, rotation and mirror).
    • Dynamic groups wait for the end of combat to move protected anchors.
    • The swing timer no longer listens to the combat log.

    Fixes

    • The 1.3.2 zip built for CurseForge did not load: Init.lua stopped on unexpected symbol near ']'.
    • Aura trigger, Name Pattern Match: the filter matched every aura, so an aura made for Demon Skin also showed Devotion Aura. It now matches the name, with equality when no operator is chosen.
    • Action Usable trigger: a paused cooldown was read from the wrong value.
    • Range Check: no Lua error when the game hides the range.
    • Custom code: WeakAuras.GetCritChance, GetHitChance, GetEffectiveAttackPower and GetEffectiveSpellPower return nil instead of 0 while the game hides your stats.

    Known limitations

    • Tested in game: Aura (Modern) on a buff of the player, out of combat and in combat, the Secret Restrictions Active load condition, and the Range Check trigger in combat. Everything else listed under New and Changes is not tested in game yet.
    • Aura (Modern) needs the spell ID of the aura itself, which can differ from the spell you cast on WoW Forever.
    • /wa is also used by ForeverAuras: disable ForeverAuras, or type /weakauras.
    • With the classic Aura trigger, buffs and debuffs are hidden in combat: a buff shown before the pull keeps counting down, stacks stay frozen, and a buff applied for the first time in combat only shows when combat ends. Use Aura (Modern) for combat.
  16. 1.3.2

    Oct 3, 2026

    Highlights

    • Aura names typed by hand work again: "Demon Skin" in an Aura trigger now matches the buff.

    Fixes

    • Aura trigger and Load tab: an aura name typed by hand was replaced by an empty name, so the trigger matched nothing and an extra "or" row appeared. The name is now kept as typed. Spell IDs were not affected.

    Known limitations

    • Talents: not tested in game yet. The ForeverAuras "Specialization" load condition is ignored on import: the aura then loads for every specialization of its class.
    • Buffs and debuffs are hidden in combat: a buff shown before the pull keeps counting down, stacks stay frozen, and a buff applied for the first time in combat only shows when combat ends.
    • The Native Filter of the Aura trigger shows nothing at the moment.
    • Combat log triggers never fire: the game forbids the combat log to addons.
    • The Blizzard Cooldown Manager is not enabled for every class on the WoW Forever beta.
    • Not tested in game yet: Hide when target dies, Totem trigger in combat, Equipment Durability, Tracking, Ammo, Instance Type, off hand and ranged swing timer, dispel type colors, dungeons and raids.
    • Nameplate anchoring only works with the default Blizzard nameplates.
  17. 1.3.1

    Oct 2, 2026

    Highlights

    • DoT timers without custom code: the Spell Cast Succeeded trigger has a new Hide when target dies option.

    New

    • Spell Cast Succeeded trigger: Hide when target dies. The timer started by your cast hides when your current target dies, before its duration ends. Only the death of your current target is seen: if you change target and the mob with your DoT dies, the timer keeps running, and if the new target dies, the timer is hidden.

    Changes

    • Guide (/wa tutorial), section 5: the DoT timer recipe uses the Spell Cast Succeeded trigger, with no custom code. The ready-made Immolate aura uses this trigger too: importing it again updates the old one.

  18. 1.3.0

    Sep 30, 2026

    Highlights

    • Progress Textures move in combat: linear and circular fills follow the hidden value, like the Progress Bar.
    • Text auras show the health, power and percent of the unit in combat, with %health, %maxhealth, %percenthealth, %power, %maxpower and %percentpower.
    • Cast bar on your target: the Cast trigger follows the cast in combat, with the icon of the spell.
    • Totem timers keep running in combat.
    • Talents: the Talent load conditions and the Talent Known trigger work on WoW Forever, with a talent picker, the same way as in ForeverAuras.
    • Auras published for ForeverAuras import as they are, talent conditions included.

    New

    • Progress Texture: Left to Right, Right to Left, Bottom to Top, Top to Bottom, Clockwise and Anticlockwise textures are drawn by the game while the value is hidden. Not drawn that way: an inverted static value, extra textures, slant, crop, mirror and the start and end angles.
    • Text aura and Text sub element: %health, %maxhealth, %percenthealth, %power, %maxpower, %percentpower, %value, %total, %p and %t are drawn by the game in combat, with the plain text around them. Format options are ignored while the value is hidden, and a text with { (raid markers, %{...}) keeps its last readable values.
    • Cast trigger: while the cast of the unit is hidden, the bar, the swipe and a %p text follow the cast. The name is shown empty, the icon is the icon of the spell. A trigger filtered by spell name or ID, Remaining Time or Interruptible does not match a hidden cast.
    • Totem trigger: the timer of a totem keeps running in combat. The totem name, icon and spell ID filters accept every hidden totem; the Remaining Time filter does not.
    • Talent and Or Talent load conditions, and the Talent Known trigger: once a single Class and Specialization is selected, a talent picker shows the talent tree of that specialization. The talents are read from the game's talent trees, with the same IDs as ForeverAuras. The talent data reader and the picker come from ForeverAuras (Neroxrw, GPL-2.0).

    Changes

    • Unit is Unit, Specific Unit, Ignore Self, Source Unit and Destination Unit checks keep their last readable result when the game hides the comparison (compound unit IDs such as targettarget on restricted maps).
    • Internal data version 91, the same as ForeverAuras: an aura exported from either addon imports into the other without a version warning. Auras saved or exported with 1.2.0 still load. An export made with 1.3.0 cannot be imported into 1.2.0, and going back to 1.2.0 shows the repair window.
    • ForeverAuras exports are recognized by their content (ForeverAuras trigger and sub element types, media paths, custom code), no longer by their version number. An aura whose only triggers are Role or Equipment Durability imports as it is.

    Fixes

    • Texture paths ending with .tga or .blp (rings, circles and squares of the texture picker) now load on WoW Forever.
    • Global Cooldown trigger: shows in combat.
    • Aura triggers: no more "Aura triggers paused until the end of combat" at the start of a fight, and a scan started by a target change or a roster update in that frame keeps the matched auras.
    • Text aura: no Lua error after a hidden text was shown (its size is then left as is).
    • Importing an aura with a Talent load condition no longer stops with "C_SpecializationInfo.GetTalent: query.tier must be specified".
    • ForeverAuras media paths written with doubled backslashes in custom code are renamed on import too.

    • Not tested in game yet: Totem trigger in combat, Equipment Durability, Tracking, Ammo, Instance Type, off hand and ranged swing timer, dispel type colors, dungeons and raids.
    • Nameplate anchoring only works with the default Blizzard nameplates.
  19. 1.2.0

    Sep 29, 2026

    Highlights

    • In combat, the game now draws what WeakAuras cannot read: cooldown swipes, timer bars, health and power bars, and texts made only of %p and %t keep moving.
    • Recasting a buff on yourself restarts its timer, even in combat.
    • New triggers: Bag Space, Equipment Durability, Role, Tracking and Ammo.
    • The full guide is inside WeakAuras: click Guide at the top of the /wa window.

    New

    • Triggers: Bag Space, Equipment Durability, Role, Tracking, and Ammo (count of the equipped ammo in the bags).
    • Swing Timer: uses the game's own swing for main hand, off hand and ranged (wand included), with a Target In Range option.
    • Aura trigger: Elapsed Time filter, Native Filter (aura categories of the game), and a "From the Cooldown Manager" list.
    • Cooldown trigger: "From the Cooldown Manager" list, and an "On Global Cooldown" condition.
    • Conditions trigger: "Secret Restrictions Active" option.
    • Dispel Type Icon sub element, and borders colored by dispel type.
    • Load options: Class and Specialization, and Instance Type.
    • Auras exported from ForeverAuras are converted on import. What cannot be converted is listed in the chat.
    • /wa cdm shows or hides the Blizzard Cooldown Manager, out of combat.
    • Guide: /wa tutorial or the Guide button opens the full guide, with three ready-made auras to import (DoT timer, DoT timer on nameplates, pre-pull checklist).

    Changes

    • Auras update as soon as the game stops hiding data, not only at the end of combat.
    • The options warn about combat log triggers, and about thresholds on health or power, which cannot be checked in combat.
    • The Weapon Enchant trigger works with the new game API.

    Fixes

    • Role trigger: no more Lua error.
    • Health trigger: the health bar of your target moves in combat.
    • A condition such as "Health < 50%" keeps its last state in combat instead of turning false.
    • Unit triggers keep working when the unit ID is hidden (instances). An Npc ID filter then hides the aura.
    • Equipment Durability percentages are whole numbers.
    • Off hand swing timer after an attack speed change.

    Known limitations

    • Buffs and debuffs are hidden in combat: a buff shown before the pull keeps counting down, stacks stay frozen, and a buff applied for the first time in combat only shows when combat ends.
    • The Native Filter of the Aura trigger shows nothing at the moment.
    • Combat log triggers never fire: the game forbids the combat log to addons.
    • The Blizzard Cooldown Manager is not enabled for every class on the WoW Forever beta.
    • Not tested in game yet: Equipment Durability, Tracking, Ammo, Instance Type, off hand and ranged swing timer, dispel type colors, dungeons and raids.
    • Nameplate anchoring only works with the default Blizzard nameplates.
  20. 1.1.0

    Sep 28, 2026

    Highlights

    • Combat stability: no more Lua errors when the game hides data in combat (secret values).
    • Cooldowns known before combat still become ready at their end time.
    • Target, focus and nameplate tracking no longer errors on hidden unit IDs (instances).
    • New in-game tutorial: /wa tutorial, with two example auras to import.

    Changes

    • Secret values in trigger states are replaced by the last readable value.
    • Lua errors caused by secret values inside aura code are no longer reported.
    • Spell, charge, item and item slot cooldowns keep their last readable value in combat.
    • The GCD ends at its known end time, and every cooldown is checked again when combat ends.
    • The unit change tracker and the nameplate target tracker ignore secret unit GUIDs.
    • Talent caches no longer require GetNumTalentTabs or GetSpecialization.
    • /wa tutorial (or /wa tuto) opens a tutorial window, also reachable from the first login popup.
    • TUTORIAL.md: how to create auras on WoW Forever, with ready-to-import examples.

    Known limitations

    • Not tested in dungeons and raids yet.
    • Combat log triggers never fire: the game forbids the combat log to addons.
    • Aura and cooldown data can freeze during combat and update when combat ends.
    • Nameplate anchoring only works with the default Blizzard nameplates.
  21. 1.0.2-beta

    • Loss of Control and Queued Action triggers use the new spell API.
    • First login popup lists what works on WoW Forever.
  22. 1.0

    • First release of WeakAuras 5.22.0 for WoW Forever 1.60.1 (interface 16001).
